The Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus (CMBT), a transportation hub in Chennai, Tamil Nadu covers more than 37 acres area.

It is located between the SAF Games Village and the Koyambedu Vegetable Market. It serves as the central point for inter-state and long-distance bus services, connecting Chennai to numerous cities and towns across India.

As of today, more than one lakh people travel from this bus terminus, and over 500 buses commute every day. 

The terminus features modern amenities such as waiting areas, restrooms, food courts, and shops, providing a more comfortable experience for passengers.

This terminus is one of the largest, and as a result, many people, especially children, get separated from their family members every day. To address this issue, the Chennai police have developed a child-friendly center for kids. 

The Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) constructed the Mofussil Bus Terminus at a cost of Rs 103 crore.

The Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus (CMBT) is located near several key areas. From the metro station, it is only 600 meters away. The Chennai International Airport is 12 kilometers away, Chennai Central Railway Station is 13 kilometers away, and IIT Madras is 18 kilometers away.

Vadapalani Murugan Temple is 2.5 kilometer from this bus terminal. This temple is popular since 19th centuray and one of the popular tourist attractions in the region.
