Before stepping out to play Holi, generously apply coconut oil, olive oil, or any other hair oil to your hair and scalp. This creates a protective barrier against colors and makes it easier to wash off the colors later.
Wear a scarf, bandana, or a hat to cover your hair completely. This prevents direct contact of colors with your hair and scalp.
Apply a waterproof sunscreen with a high SPF to protect your skin from the harmful UV rays of the sun.
Opt for full-sleeved clothes that cover most of your body. This minimizes direct contact of colors with your skin and reduces the risk of skin irritation or allergic reactions.
Whenever possible, use natural, herbal colors made from flowers, vegetables, or other organic materials. These colors are less likely to cause skin allergies or irritation compared to synthetic ones.
Drink plenty of water before, during, and after playing Holi to keep your skin hydrated and flush out toxins from your body.
After playing Holi, wash your skin and hair with a mild cleanser or a herbal shampoo to remove the colors gently.
After cleansing, moisturize your skin with a hydrating lotion or cream to replenish lost moisture and soothe any irritation caused by the colors.
Give your hair some extra care post-Holi by deep conditioning or using a hair mask to restore moisture and nourishment. You can also opt for a hot oil massage to rejuvenate your scalp and hair.
