Janhvi Kapoor's favourite dahi tadka recipe: Here's how to make THIS comfort food at home

Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor has revealed that her go-to comfort food is Dahi Tadka, a simple yet flavorful dish that combines creamy yogurt with a spicy tempering.​

Janhvi Kapoor loves how the spicy tadka (tempering) adds a burst of flavour to the cool, creamy yogurt, making it a perfect dish for any time of the day. ​

To make Janhvi Kapoor's favourite Dahi Tadka, you’ll need 2 cups of whisked yogurt (dahi), 2 tablespoons of ghee, half teaspoon each of cumin seeds and mustard seeds, and 1 dried Kashmiri red chilli. You can also optionally add curry leaves, chopped green chillies, and grated garlic for an extra kick of flavour.

Whisk the yogurt until it's smooth and creamy. Set it aside in a serving bowl.​

In a small pan, heat the ghee over medium heat until it's hot but not smoking.​

Add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, and the dried red chilli to the hot ghee. Let them sizzle and release their aromas.​

For extra flavor, you can add curry leaves, chopped green chilies, and grated garlic to the tempering. Sauté them briefly until fragrant.​

Pour the hot tempering over the whisked yogurt. Mix gently to combine, ensuring the flavors meld together.​

Serve the Dahi Tadka immediately with steamed rice or as a side dish to your meal. It's a versatile dish that complements various Indian cuisines.​
