Buttermilk vs Lassi: Which is healthier?

In summer, we consume several homemade drinks. Buttermilk and Lassi tops the list.

Both drinks are made from curd and consumed for freshness in summer.

They look similar but differ a lot in their taste and flavour. Buttermilk is salty in taste, lassi is sweet.

Buttermilk is prepared with ingredients like black salt, cumin powder, and coriander. Lassi has sugar, milk, fruits.

Buttermilk's nutrients: It is rich in probiotics and contains calcium, vitamin B12, zinc and protein.

Lassi's nutrients: It is rich in nutrients like calcium, potassium, and phosphorus. Lactic acid in lassi helps in increasing immunity.

Lassi contains sugar which increases calorie count (150 to 200). In buttermilk, about 40 to 45 calories are present.

Which is healthier?

Due to high calories, drinking lassi can lead to weight gain. Hence, buttermilk is a way healthier option.
