9 Less crowded Indian hill stations to witness snowfall this winter

1. Kalpa, Himachal Pradesh  This serene and quaint town in Himachal Pradesh witnesses snowfall during the winter season as it is situated at a high altitude. The best time to visit this place is between November and March. 

2.Chopta, Uttarakhand Nestled in the lap of the Himalayas at an elevation of about 8,790 feet above sea-level, Chopta experiences magical snowfall and picturesque views of Trishul, Nanda Devi and Chaukhamba peaks.

3. Mechuka, Arunachal Pradesh Mechuka in Arunachal Pradesh is a spectacular hill-station which turns into a surreal destination to visit during winters as it gets snowy. 

4. Zanskar Valley, Ladakh Zanskar valley gets covered in snow and there are many winter sports here that you can indulge in, amidst the mesmerising snow-coated mountains and frozen lakes.

5. Neolong Valley This is another untapped destination in Uttarakhand which comes under Gangotri National Park. It is famous for many things like bridges attached to the mountain about 3666 m above sea level, and its climate and scenery resembles that of Ladakh.

6. Auli, Himachal Pradesh Auli is not only one of the sprawling Himachali dreamland destinations but is also famous for experiencing heavy snowfall. 

7. Tawang Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh is a majestic hill station and perfect option to enjoy snowfall. It is also known for its beautiful monasteries and scenic beauty. December is the best time to visit here.

8. Munsiyari An untapped and pristine location to witness snowfall, Munsiyari is also known as Little Kashmir. The gorgeous hill station offers a panoramic view of the snow-capped Himalayan ranges, and is also a popular trekking destination. 

9. Mukteshwar Mukteshwar is a splendid hill station to visit in winter in Uttarakhand. This pristine town in Nainital receives heavy snowfall during the peak winter months making it a perfect escape for snowfall lovers.
