Israel-Hamas war: Which countries supporting whom

On Monday, as the clash between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas entered its third day, many nations have sided with Israel whereas some supported the Palestinian armed outfit.

Here is a list of nations that support Israel while the population is being evacuated from the border regions and the death toll has surpassed 1,100.

According to President Joe Biden, the US is "rock solid and unwavering" in its support for Israel. Biden has also directed US warships and aircraft to approach Israel and provided additional military supplies as a show of support.

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak informed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Britain was supporting Israel "unequivocally".

France's support for Israel was reaffirmed by President Emmanuel Macron, who also criticized the attack that was launched against it. Aside from Isaac Herzog, he also spoke with Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister. Additionally, the nation has increased security around Jewish institutions and places of worship.

In order to protect civilian lives during the Gaza conflict, Australia has called for "restraint" and backed Israel's right to self-defense. Anthony Albanese, the prime minister of Australia, lambasted Hamas for the violence and denounced its "indiscriminate" targeting of people.  

The sudden Hamas attacks on Israeli civilians have been denounced by Norway, whose foreign minister, Anniken Huitfeldt, said that the nation condemns the assaults in the harshest possible terms. Norway firmly rejects the attacks on Israeli people and demands an immediate end to the violence, according to Huitfeldt.

Other nations have additionally shown their backing of Israel, including Austria, Germany, India, Canada, Poland, Spain, and the European Union. Eli Cohen, the foreign minister of Israel, reported having conversations with 17 foreign ministers, largely in Europe. The Times of Israel reports that since the war began, Israeli ambassadors have also given 180 interviews to international media.

Qatar, Yemen, South Africa, and Iran have all expressed support for the Palestinian group. Saudi Arabia has requested a two-state solution and an urgent end to hostilities amid the ongoing crisis.
