After the sudden death of the pro-British Sultan, his successor, Sultan Khalid bin Barghash, refused to step down. The British bombarded the palace, quickly leading to surrender. This became the shortest war in history lasting no more than 45 minutes.

Anglo-Zanzibar War (1896)

This war began when Georgia attempted to regain control of South Ossetia. Russia intervened, swiftly defeating Georgian forces. A ceasefire was signed within 5 days.

Russo-Georgian War (2008)

Fought between Israel and the neighboring Arab states of Egypt, Jordan, and Syria, the Six-Day war resulted in Israel's victory. Israel captured the Sinai Peninsula, the Golan Heights, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem.  

Six-Day war (1967)

This war, fought between India and Pakistan, led to the creation of Bangladesh. Hostilities began on December 3 and ended on December 16, 1971, lasting 13 days, with Pakistan's surrender. 

Indo-Pakistani War (1971)

Lasting from November 14 to November 28, this war was fought over disputed territories between Serbia and Bulgaria. Bulgaria successfully defended its territory, leading to a ceasefire in 14 days.  

Serbo-Bulgarian War (1885)

 A brief conflict over border regions following the collapse of the Russian Empire. The war ended with British mediation, resulting in a ceasefire in 24 days.  

Georgian-Armenian War (1918)

China invaded Vietnam in response to Vietnam's occupation of Cambodia. After 27 days of fighting, China withdrew, claiming success, though Vietnam maintained control of Cambodia.  

Sino-Vietnamese War (1979)

Fought between Bulgaria and its former allies Serbia, Greece, and Montenegro, the war ended in 33 days with Bulgaria's defeat and territorial losses.
