This bird does not keep its feet on ground

You will be surprised to know that there is a bird in the world which does not like to keep its feet on the ground. 

We are talking about the 'green bird', which looks like a pigeon. It is also called Yellow Footed Green Pigeon. 

Hariyal is the state bird of Maharashtra, but you will mostly see it in the areas of Uttar Pradesh. 

This bird likes to live in dense forests and on tall trees. They build their nests on tall trees like Peepal and Banyan.

It lives for approximately 26 years. You will see this 32 to 36 cm long bird sitting on the branches of trees. 

This bird hardly lands on the ground. Even if he disembarks, he brings wood under his feet and sits on it.
