First look of Meerut Metro trains unveiled, see pics here

As per the latest update, the first look of the Meerut Metro trains was unveiled today (Feburay 16).

The first-ever Meerut Metro trainset was officially handed over to the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) at Savli, Gujarat.

Alstom, formerly known as Bombardier has bagged the contract to build 10 sets of three-car trains for the Meerut Metro. In addition to this, the deal incorporates a comprehensive maintenance service for a duration of 15 years

The Meerut Metro system is set to include three Car Train sets. To maximize both comfort and efficiency, it will have ergonomically designed 2×2 transverse as well as longitudinal seating arrangement

Each of these trains is designed to carry more than 700 passengers comfortably.

Selective door opening via push buttons to reduce energy consumption, and safety measures like emergency egress devices, fire extinguishers, alarms, and talk-back systems are integrated.

The Meerut Metro corridor extends across a distance of 23 km, encompassing 13 stations, with 18 km elevated and 5 km underground sections.
