India has secured the fourth position in the Global Fire Power Index 2025.

The Global Firepower Index is based on over 60 parameters, including defense technology, financial resources, logistics, geography, and strategic position.

The United States tops the list. Since 2005, the United States has retained its top spot. Deep manpower base, financials, material quantities, are the reason.

China forges ahead with large scale investment in military and development capabilities to go along with a powerful industrial capacity.

India has retained its 4th ranking for the sixth time. India has been focusing on defense production and self-reliance over the past few years.

South Korea at fifth rank possesses an indigenous aviation, armor, small arms, and shipbuilding development and production capability.

Others in list are UK with 6th rank, France at 7th, Japan at 8th, Turkey at 9th, and Italy at 10th. Pakistan dropped out of the top 10 in 2024. Pakistan, previously ranked 9th, has now slipped to 12th position.
