Solar Eclipse 2023: 6 myths and facts about Surya Grahan

Around 5 000 years ago, humanity began to take note of solar eclipses, according to NASA.

Irish archaeoastronomer Paul Gryphon compared the site's age and the dates of possible solar eclipses to the engravings on the stones.

A massive stone sculpture in Loughcrew cairns depicts overlapping concentric circles, which may be meant to mimic the moon's shadow over the sun during an eclipse.

The Greek term for "eclipse," which means "abandonment" or "downfall," was used to characterise this occurrence.

Planets may be visible as tiny pinpoints of light during a total solar eclipse if they happen to be in the sky at the moment.

During Totality, you may glance about without risk. It is safe to see the eclipse when the Moon completely blocks the Sun.
