India star opener Yashasvi Jaiswal made a stunning comeback with a fifty on Day 2 of the ongoing IND vs AUS Perth Test in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal become the first Indian opening pair to score 100 runs in Australia in Tests in the last 20 years.

Jaiswal now holds the highest runs by a left-handed Indian batter in a calendar year, overtaking Gambhir, who set the record in 2008.

Earlier this year, Jaiswal also gained attention when he scored double 100 in two consecutive Test matches against England.

In October, Jaiswal was the top scorer in the series against Bangladesh, with 189 runs in four innings, including three half-centuries.

Playing for Rajasthan Royals, Jaiswal made his maiden T20 century in April 2023, scoring 124 from 62 balls against Mumbai Indians.

In May 2023, the 22-year-old left-hander hit the fastest IPL half-century in just 13 balls against Kolkata Knight Riders.

In IPL 2024, Jaiswal led the Royals’ run chase against the MI, scoring an unbeaten 104 runs in 60 balls.

As of 23 November 2024, Jaiswal has gathered over 1161 runs in Test matches in 2024, with 7 fifties and two centuries.
