IPL Auction 2025: RTM Rule Explained

Day 2 of the IPL Auction 2025 is ongoing in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The Right-To-Match (RTM) card plays a significant role in the IPL 2025 mega auction, as it enables teams to retain players from their former squads.
The RTM card allows teams to match the highest bid for a player who was part of their squad in the previous season.
This helps teams keep key players who weren't retained before the auction.
The original bidder gets one more chance to raise their bid after the RTM card is used.
If the team with the RTM card matches the higher bid, they retain the player.
If they don't, the player goes to the original bidder and the RTM card is available for the original team to use later.
The Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders are not allowed to use the RTM card in the 2025 auction.
