World Kidney Day 2024: Best fruits and vegetables for healthy kidney

Apples: Apples may reduce cholesterol, and prevent toxins to form in kidneys.

Bell peppers: These are a rich source of vitamins C and A, vitamin B6, folic acid and fiber, which keeps kidneys and liver healthy.

Cabbage: It is loaded with phytochemicals, chemical compounds that remove free radicals before they can do damage. 

Strawberries: Strawberries are rich in two compounds: anthocyanins and ellagitannins, which prevent oxidative damage.

Garlic: Garlic has antimicrobial properties that combats plaque in body, lowers cholesterol and reduces inflammation.    

Onions: Onion contain sulfur compounds which give it its pungent smell and detoxifies the kidney.

 Pomegranate: Pomegranate is loaded with antioxidants which lowers inflammation in the body.

Blueberries: Blueberries are rich in antioxidant phytonutrients called anthocyanidins, which reduces inflammation and any chance of damage.
