Common foods that can turn into poison and become harmful

Here are some common foods that you should watch out for as they may turn into poison.

Cherries: Cherries contain highly poisonous compounds in their leaves and seeds. 

Mushrooms: There are about 12 deadly poisonous mushroom species in the world. 

Eggs and rice: Reheating them can lead to the production of salmonella bacteria, which can cause food poisoning.

Nutmeg: Nutmeg is hallucinogenic if eaten in large quantities and can cause side effects like nausea, dehydration and palpitations.

Potato: Green potatoes contain a toxic elements known as solanine, which could lead to poisoning by affecting the nervous and digestive systems.

Raw cashews: It contains a chemical called urushiol, which is also present in poison ivy. It can be fatal if consumed excessively.

Almonds: The bitter almond is extremely poisonous when it is in raw form as it has glycoside amygdalin.
