High fever

The measles usually starts with a fever that is very high, usually more than 101°F

Rash

Three to five days following the start of the fever, the typical measles rash develops. Usually, it begins on the face and moves down to the body's other parts

Cough

In addition to typical respiratory symptoms like a runny nose or sore throat, measles can induce a persistent cough

Runny nose

A typical measles symptom that is comparable to the symptoms of a cold is a runny or congested nose

Conjunctivitis

The measles can inflame the eyes, resulting in redness, light sensitivity, and excessive tear productiony or congested nose

Sore throat

A sore throat can develop in some measles patients, making swallowing difficult

Malaise

Symptoms of measles include bodily aches, irritability, and a generalised feeling of discomfort or malaise

Koplik's spots

These are little white spots on the inner lining of the cheeks that may develop inside the mouth and have bluish-white centres. They usually appear a few days before the measles rash does
