7 desk yoga asanas to reduce sleepiness at office

It is very common to feel sleepy at office. However, simple stretches into your workday can help combat sleepiness and improve your overall energy levels. Here are they: 

Neck rolls: Gently roll your head in a circular motion to release neck tension. Do this slowly in both directions.

Wrist and finger stretch: Extend your arms in front of you, bend your wrists, and stretch your fingers. This is great for relieving stiffness from typing.

Chair pigeon pose: Cross one ankle over the opposite knee and lean forward slightly. This stretches the hips and can help alleviate fatigue.

Shoulder shrug: Raise your shoulders up towards your ears and then release them down. This can relieve tension in your shoulders.

Side stretch: While seated or standing, reach one arm overhead and lean to the opposite side. This stretches your side body and can invigorate you.

Cobra pose: While seated, place your hands on your lower back and gently arch your back. This opens up the chest and improves posture.

Mindful breathing: Close your eyes and take deep, slow breaths for a minute. Focus on your breath to center yourself and increase alertness.
