Deepti Bahal, an ex-college principal from Baghpat, is now UP's most wanted woman criminal.
She is accused of being an additional director in the Bike Bot scam, a fraudulent scheme promising large returns on investment in motorcycles as two-wheeler taxis.
The mastermind behind the scheme is her husband, Sanjay Bhati, and the company is being run by his real estate firm, Garvit Innovative Promoters Limited.
The scam is estimated to be around INR 4,500 crore with over 250 cases registered across the country.
Three different criminal investigation agencies are looking for Bahal, and a bounty of INR 5 lakh is on her capture.
Her involvement in the case is believed to be on a large scale, with her being named in all 118 cases registered in Greater Noida and over 150 others filed across the country.
Police have impounded vehicles and seized assets worth over INR 216 crore registered in the name of Garvit Innovators.
The CBI probe is also looking into the role of Noida officials, as complaints were submitted, and fraudulent activity of the company was in the knowledge of the Noida district authority, but no action was taken.
