Tezpur Air Force Station in Assam was the site of President Droupadi Murmu's historic flight aboard a Sukhoi 30 MKI fighter aircraft.
President Murmu is the third President, and the second female President, to make such a sortie.
The president has arrived in Assam for a three-day visit. On April 6, she landed in Assam.
This multirole fighter aircraft for the Indian Air Force was developed in a cooperative effort between the Russia's Sukhoi Design Bureau and the state-owned Hindustan Aeronautics Limited.
The Su-30MKI was first designed for the Indian Air Force (IAF) in 1995.
