Over the span of only one month, tomato prices in several cities have doubled, with Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru suffering the most from the abrupt rise in costs throughout the nation.

Extreme weather conditions and the poor tomato production are to blame for these skyrocketing prices.

Tomato prices have sharply increased in major cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Lucknow, Bhopal, Jaipur, Jabalpur, and Jammu.

Tomatoes are cost between Rs. 70 and Rs. 100 per kilogramme in the nation's capital, Delhi. Prices per kg in other places like Lucknow, Bhopal, Jabalpur, and Jaipur range from 70 to 100 rupees.

However, there are some cities where tomatoes are selling under Rs 50 per kg. In one of these places, Hyderabad, tomatoes can be purchased for as little as Rs 25 per kg.

According to the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, tomatoes are being sold in Patna for Rs 40 per kg, as reported by Aaj Tak.

Tomatoes are priced at Rs 41 per kg at marketplaces in Uttar Pradesh's Agra, and Maharashtra's Pune.

At Rs 44 per kg, tomatoes are being sold in Indore for the fourth-lowest price. Despite a rise in tomato prices in Mumbai, it is said that the selling price is now at Rs 47 per kg.

Finally, Andhra Pradesh is the state where tomatoes are being sold for Rs 50 per kg.
