Here's everything to know about   India's newly built longest sea bridge

PM Modi will inaugurate the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link, India's longest sea bridge, during his visit to Maharashtra on January 12.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewri-Nhava Sheva Atal Setu is the official name of the bridge. It was constructed for a total cost of Rs 21,200 crore, of which Rs 15,000 crore came from loans.

The bridge will also connect with the arterial Mumbai-Pune Expressway, which connects the state's two largest cities.

The MTHL will be a six-lane sea link, saving commuters around Rs with 16.50 km on sea and 5.50 km on land.

Mumbai Police announces 100 km/h speed limit for four-wheelers on MTHL, prohibiting motorbikes, autorickshaws, and tractors on sea bridge.

The Maharashtra government has approved a proposal to charge Rs 250 as a one-way toll for cars using the MTHL.

Atal Setu, a resilient structure made from unique materials like flow-filled epoxy-coated strands, is designed to withstand earthquakes, high tides, and wind pressure.

The proposed bridge will significantly shorten the travel time between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai, reducing the journey from two hours to 20 minutes. (Image source:@ompsyram/Twitter)
