The gruesome murder of Delhi teen girl Sakshi shook the entire country.
The incident compelled us to sit back and re-evaluate the morality and culture we are inculcating in our society.
Here are sever such other crime cases in India that left us aghast:
Shraddha Walker- Aftab Poonawala (2022) 28-year-old Aaftab brutally murdered 26 years old Shraddha after a fight. The two were in a live-in relationship. Poonawala killed her and chopped up her body parts and discarded the body parts in a nearby forest. Reports even suggest that Aaftab kept Walker's cut-up head in his fridge.
Nirbhaya case The Nirbhaya rape case is one that changed many people from within. On December 16, 2012, on a private bus, six men raped Nirbhaya, a 22-year-old physiotherapy intern. Raped her, beaten her with iron rods, and penetrated iron rods into her private parts. If this was not ghastly enough, the prime accused in the case even shoved his hand inside her to pull out her intestine. The brutality of the six men in a private bus to Munirka shook the entire country.
Aarushi Talwar murder (2008) The Aarushi Talwar murder case is a rather confusing double murder case. In May 2008, 13-year-old Aarushi and 45-year-old Hemraj Banjade were killed. Aarushi's body was discovered in her bedroom. It was believed that Hemraj, the house help was the killer. His body was found the next day on Aarushi's house's terrace, partially decomposed.
Nithari rape and Killing (2006) Nithari case took place in Noida that includes sexual assault, necrophilia, and cannibalism. Some claim that the killings were part of an organ-harvesting racket. After receiving multiple complaints, the police found 19 skulls from a drain behind house number D5, Sector-31, Noida.
The Ranga-Billa case (1978) In August of 1978, murderer duo, Kuljeet Singh (alias Ranga Khus) and Jasbir Singh (alias Billa) kidnapped a sibling duo -- Geeta Chopra (16) and Sanjay Chopra (14). Killers believed as the children were speaking English, they must belong to a rich family but later discovered that their father was a naval officer. They took turns raping Geeta before killing the two in fear of getting caught since ransom was out of the question.
