10 seats to watch out for in Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections 2023

1. Gwalior East Presently represented by state energy minister Pradhuman Singh Tomar of the BJP. He was one of the rebel Congress MLAs and Jyotiraditya Scindia's ally who changed sides in 2020.

2. Budhini Represented by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan since 2006, when he won it in a bypoll for the first time and became his stronghold where he won ever since.

3. Chachoda Former CM Digvijaya Singh's brother Lakshman Singh is contesting from here against a former Congress leader, Priyanka Meena, who joined BJP in February this year. 

4. Bhopal North This seat has been a stronghold of Congress’ Arif Aqueel, who has never lost here since 1998. But, in the 2023 polls, Arif has declared his son, Atiq Aqueel, as the candidate.

5. Badnawar The poll contest in the Badnawar Assembly seat is expected to be highly intense. It is a battle between BJP’s Rajvardhan Singh Dattigaon and veteran leader Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat from Congress. 

6. Bhopal Central It would be the fourth assembly election since the Bhopal Central seat originated in 2008 polls. no candidate has been able to retain the seat, but that could change this time. 

7. Dabra In the Dabra seat, the BJP has fielded former minister Imarti Devi against her 'samdhi' (father-in-law) Suresh Raje of the Congress.

8. Hoshangabad In Hoshangabad, two brothers are contesting against each other-Sitasharan Sharma of BJP vs Girija Shankar Sharma of Congress. 

9. Narsinghpur The BJP has fielded strong OBC leader and Union minister Prahlad Singh Patel from Narsinghpur, in place of present MLA and his younger brother Jalam Singh Patel, who won in 2013 and 2018.

10. Indore-1:  The BJP has pitched its senior leader and national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya from Indore-1 seat. It is currently represented by Congress’ Sanjay Shukla, who won the 2018 polls by 8,000 votes.
