Pushpa 2 is unstoppable at the box office ever since it was released on December 5, 2024. Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil have reprised their roles as Pushparaj, Srivalli and SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat respectively in the film.

Pushpa 2, the sequel to 2021 Pushpa: The Rise, has shattered several records at the box office. However, the film has also missed breaking other records set by the Baahubali and KGF franchises.

Pushpa 2 overtook RRR's impressive Rs 156 crore debut to emerge as the biggest opener in India. The film opened at Rs 175 crore in India.

Pushpa 2: The Rule broke the opening day record of Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan(Rs 65.5 crore) in Hindi language. With a Rs 70 crore Hindi opening collection, it set a new benchmark in Indian cinema’s history.

It emerged to be the first Indian film to earn over Rs 200 crore in gross revenue on its opening day. It also achieved a new milestone by grossing more than Rs 50 crore in two different languages on the first day of release.

However, Pushpa 2 missed on creating a global record. Internationally, the film garnered $8.2 million (approximately Rs 68 crore), falling short of Baahubali 2's benchmark of $10.25 million (Rs 85.18 crore).

Pushpa 2 also failed to surpass the Baahubali 2’s 3.3 million pre-sales record. It achieved 3 million tickets sold in advance bookings.

Pushpa 2 missed shattering Baahubali 2 and KGF Chapter 2 in Tamil Nadu, as it merely recorded Rs 7.7 crore on its opening day as against Rs 17 crore collected by SS Rajamouli’s film.

Though Pushpa 2 registered a smashing start with a huge $4.47 million on day 1 in North America, however, it did fall short of Baahubali 2’s $4.6 million opening collection.
