It has Prabhas, Akshay, Mohanlal; but Vishnu Manchu's Kannappa teaser gives sasta Baahubali vibes

The teaser of Vishnu Manchu’s ambitious action film Kannappa was unveiled on Friday
The film, directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, is based on the legend of Kannappa, a Lord Shiva devotee
The teaser showed grand battles, some fantastic locations, and starry cameos
And yet, even the star power of the likes of Prabhas and Mohanlal could not salvage the mess
Kannappa has serious Baahubali baggage and many viewers complained it looks like a pale imitation
Case in point – these bad guys that resemble Baahubali’s Kalakeya warriors a tad bit too much
Preithy Mukundhan’s appearance also drew comparisons to Tamanaah Bhatia from Baahubali
Several other shots and sequences seemed a throwback to SS Rajamouli’s blockbuster
Kannappa, which also stars Mohan Babu and Kajal Aggarwal, is set to release later this year
