Meet Neel Moudgal, Indian-origin teen who won US science prize of over Rs 2 crore

The champion of the Regeneron Science Talent competition was named on Tuesday as 17-year-old Neel Moudgal. 

The Science Talent Search featured about 2,000 high school competitors, of which 40 promoted to the next stage.

An Indian-descent teen who created a software model to estimate the structure of RNA molecules that can help with rapid disease diagnosis has won a whopping $250,000 (Rs 2 crore approx) high schoolers' science prize.

Ambika Grover, 17, who placed sixth and received an award of $80,000, and Siddhu Pachipala, 18, who came in ninth and received an award of $50,000, were the other competitors. (Pic credit: Twitter)
